Personal Injury Claims
By Jeff Hamonds
What You Should Know About Filing Personal Injury Claims When it comes to personal injury claims, the insurance companies have an arsenal of lawyers and professionals who know the ‘ins and outs’ of the law and how to use it to their advantage. Unfortunately, most people who suffer a personal injury don’t have access to a support team that can help them in their attempt to seek fair compensation for their injuries and losses, meaning that even from the beginning they are on unequal footing. But all is not lost if you’ve suffered a personal injury, it’s important to remember that you don’t have to know all there is to know about personal injury claims just as long as you know where to find the help you need. If you’ve suffered a personal injury there a few things you should know up front: Proving negligence can be difficult - Strong beliefs, suspicions, and hearsay, is not enough to prove that a party was negligent and therefore provide compensation for your injuries. In the eyes of the law you must provide sound evidence and documentation that establishes negligence. This evidence can include a variety of sources such as medical records, photos, physical evidence, and witness statements. Seeking compensation for your injury will take time - No one wants to be proven wrong or at fault, especially when there is money involved. Big businesses and corporations will often exhaust all options to find loop holes and inconsistencies in claims made by individuals, and that can mean long weeks and months of legal wrangling for those who are seeking compensation. It can also mean a lot of money spent as well. You will most often not receive the amount of compensation you believe you are owed - You should be prepared to settle your personal injury claims for an amount that is lower than what you would like. The truth is that insurance companies have the upper hand in most personal injury claims and will do everything in their power to pay as little as possible to settle claims. The insurance companies have money and time on their side, two luxuries that you as an injured person do not. Working with a lawyer is advisable - Hiring a personal injury lawyer can be a smart decision if you are filing personal injury claims. Lawyers know the inner workings of personal injury laws, they are familiar with the tactics of the insurance companies, and can help you gain the amount of compensation that you deserve.

Well worth reading, I'm not an expert in the insurance business, however I worked as an inspector, in the home and commercial side of the insurance, and I know what they look for. The insurance companies wold rather pay an attorney, than pay the claim...?
